Truth Isn’t Always Easy

In today’s reading from, Fr. Sam Kachuba reflects on Jesus’ words: I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth. This prayer reveals not only Christ’s love for His apostles, but also His desire for all of us to be set apart in the Truth.
Fr. Sam draws a parallel to the vocation of every priest—to be consecrated to God for the sake of His people, and to lead them to the truth. While truth can sometimes challenge or confront us, it is always offered within the beauty of Christ’s relationship with the Father. In that sacred space of prayer, truth is not cold—it is radiant and transformative.

Embrace the Truth

As Jesus prays to the Father, saying He has shared everything with His followers, Paul echoes the same spirit, telling the priests of Ephesus he has not withheld a single word of God’s plan. Fr. Sam invites us to reflect on this as a blueprint for today’s preachers—and a prayer we can offer for our priests and bishops: that they may have the courage to proclaim the entire Gospel, especially when it’s difficult.
